Pros

Alloy rims are lighter than steel.

The alloy has better acceleration and agile performance as compare to its counterpart steel.

Wheels made up of the alloy can be customized into various sizes and designs.

Alloy rims are less in weight that's why less strain on the suspension components.

Better at dispersing heat away from the brake components as compared to steel wheels.

Cons

Alloy rims break effectively when compared with the steel wheels.

Alloy wheels are vulnerable to cosmetic damage due to acid cleaners and saltwater corrosion.

Steel Rims / Steel Wheel:

Steel rims are expensive than alloy wheels.

Steels are easy to repair.

Steels bite road well as compare to alloy wheels; thus, they perform better in hard weather conditions such as in snowy areas.

As compared to alloy wheels greater force is needed to bend or break steel wheels.

For steel wheels, cosmetic damages are not a big concern.

Cons

Steel rims give a low or poor performance in summers.

Carbon Fibre Rims:

Now, before discussing the pros and cons of carbon fiber rims let us give you some information regarding them. Firstly, these are not commonly used wheels. 

They are mostly used for bicycles. Many cyclists and amateur racers use these tires in their races because of their impact and advantage in races. A wheel performs better if it is lightweight and that's what carbon-fiber offers you. They are lightweight yet strong.

Pros

These rims are stiffer than aluminum wheels.

This wheel is lightweight.

Aluminum wheels have better aerodynamics as compare to carbon-fiber wheels but the way carbon-fiber wheels are used, they make more aerodynamics. Carbon-fiber wheels do this due to the carbon in them which guides the air thus resulting in less drag.

Carbon rims have more sporty and trendy looks as compare to other wheels

Cons

These wheels have bad braking qualities.

Even though they are strong and stiff yet in a lethal crash they break easily as compared to aluminum rims which bend upon the crash.

Expensive.

The rim of carbon-fiber wheels becomes less stiff compared to alloy rims when the temperature increase between 180-200 degrees hence heat resistance varies in carbon-fiber wheels.
